Throttle Hawks MC is an offspring of the Durham H.A.W.K.S. (Helping All Willing Kids Succeed).  Throttle Hawks MC was founded in January of 2011 by Shelton Chambers and co-founded by Ed Boyd, Jr. of the Durham H.A.W.K.S. The Durham H.A.W.K.S. was founded in 1993.

     For years,  members of the Durham Hawks  have shared a passion for motorcycles. With many dedicated volunteers throughout the community, and more specifically through mentoring the youth and other adolescents in a variety of sports, Throttle H.A.W.K.S. MC was formed.  Throttle H.A.W.K.S. is an additional avenue to provide positive messages for our youth and communities.  Our mission is the same as the Durham H.A.W.K.S., that being to garner and sustain lasting relationships with youth/adolescents and communities in order to encourage more healthy and well-rounded members of society.

     The Durham H.A.W.K.S. mission is carried out through more conventional methods (i.e. sports, tutoring and mentoring), Throttle Hawks believes that this can be done via a motorcycle organization.  “After all,” Throttle Hawks regularly states, “what little kid doesn’t think motorcycles are cool?!”
